Benalmádena

Located just 20km from Málaga city centre and a short 15-minute drive from Málaga Airport, the town of Benalmadena has established itself as one of southern Spain’s holiday hotspots. The area is made up of three main districts: Benalmadena Pueblo (the village), Arroyo de la Miel and Benalmadena Costa (the coast), each with their own unique feel and charm.

Only 3km inland, the Pueblo has a traditional Spanish appearance with its white-washed stone buildings and labyrinth of flower filled cobbled alleys. The area has a real cosmopolitan feel with its picturesque squares providing an abundance of fine dining restaurants and traditional tapas bars.

The Arroyo links the town to the rest of the coast with its excellent transport links. Cable cars serve as a route to the top of the mountain that pins Benalmadena to the beaches where you can enjoy the breath-taking panoramic views inland and out to sea where, on a clear day, North Africa is visible. An abundance of places to eat and drink as well as ample shopping opportunities makes this area extremely popular with tourists and locals alike.

The coastal area is home to glorious sandy beaches and traditional Spanish Cheringuitos (beach bars). Nestled at the end of the coastline is Benalmadena Marina, a real gem with an architectural blend of Arabic and Andalusian styles. With shops, restaurants and nightlife, the area has become a haven for holiday makers and those wanting to relax in the Mediterranean sunshine.
